New Year. New Role. Make a Real Difference in 2026!

Start the year doing what you love at BestStart Alexandra. We’re looking for a passionate, Qualified and Certificated Teacher to join our warm, energetic, and close-knit team in the heart of Central Otago.

At BestStart Alexandra, strong, reciprocal relationships sit at the heart of everything we do. Tamariki and whānau are genuinely welcomed, respected, and empowered, creating a connected learning environment where everyone thrives.

We provide education and care for children aged 3 months to 5 years across two dedicated spaces: Koru (Under 2s) and Pikorua (2–5-year-olds). This role can be in either space, depending on where your passion lies. We trust and support tamariki to lead their own learning, with kaiako building on children’s interests to create meaningful, engaging experiences. Our practice is grounded in the RIE/Pikler philosophy, fostering respect, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Set in a beautiful outdoor environment, our centre reflects the unique character of Central Otago. From our motorbike and jet ski in the playground to community celebrations such as Matariki and Christmas, whānau traditions are woven into our localised curriculum. Regular community excursions and a natural, holistic approach to learning support curiosity, discovery, and connection.
