Qualified ECE Teacher (BestStart Parkside)

This is a rotating shift role (8-hour days between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM), and flexibility with start and finish times is essential.

About BestStart Parkside
Our purpose-built centre sits across from Hagley Park, close to the hospital and city centre. Licensed for up to 50 children, we offer separate, thoughtfully designed spaces for under and over twos. Our curriculum is play-based and child-led, with a strong emphasis on respectful, responsive relationships.
You’ll join a nurturing, collaborative team that values inclusion, shared learning, and continuous growth. We work together with empathy and integrity, always focused on delivering the best outcomes for our tamariki and their whānau. Car parking is available on-site.
About the Role
- You’ll support our under-twos through:
- Building warm, trusting relationships with tamariki and their whānau
- Creating meaningful, age-appropriate learning experiences
- Providing calm and respectful care during routines
- Documenting individual learning journeys with input from whānau
- Maintaining a safe, nurturing learning environment
We are seeking a qualified and certificated teacher who:
- Holds a Level 7 ECE Teaching qualification and current certification
- Brings experience working with infants and toddlers (preferred)
- Understands child-led learning, and the importance of routines and responsive care
- Has strong knowledge of Te Whāriki and current ECE regulations
- Is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice
- Is emotionally attuned, organised, reflective, and collaborative
