Odyssey is now seeking a part-time Programme Coordinator (24 hours per week) to help deliver an exciting Supporting Parents, Healthy Children programme within its Youth Services. 

Please note that the Te Puawai Aroha program itself is delivered throughout the school holidays (April, July, and October) so being available for these periods is essential.

Te Puawai Aroha supports children, adolescents and their whānau develop resilience, gain knowledge, collect resources and promotes whanaungatanga. You will use your excellent organizational and promotional skills to co-ordinate all stages of this programme from venue hire, catering and all associated administration tasks to liaising with multiple different mental health workers and organisations across Counties Manukau. Your communication and compassion will be put to use in connecting with families referred to the programme to build relationships, register them for the programme and put them at ease with any areas of uncertainty. 

This position is primarily a coordination, outreach and service promotion role, where relationship management, experience and organizational skills are critical. You will have knowledge of and a strong interest in working with children of parents with mental health and addiction challenges. You will also have excellent public presentation abilities and a high level of skill using technology and managing information.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Have a high degree of flexibility
  • Able to work independently as well as work well within a team
  • Have public speaking or promotional experience
  • Passion for working with people with mental health and/or addiction
  • Excellent liaison skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Able to use most Microsoft applications
  • Have a minimum of one year’s experience in the AOD or mental health sector
  • Hold a full clean NZ driver’s licence (essential)

  • A salary between $61,838 - $69,684 pro rata per annum depending on experience
