About Us:

BestStart, a leading provider in early childhood education, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Professional Practice Leader to join our team. 

About the role:

As a Professional Practice Leader at BestStart you will evaluate and develop professional practices to ensure quality learning outcomes for children, support continuous improvement, and provide equitable learning opportunities, while collaborating on professional learning plans and displaying leadership and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal evaluations and develop professional practices in line with Te Whāriki and BestStart.
  • Assess and evaluate practices to monitor quality learning outcomes for all children.
  • Ensure systems and practices provide equitable learning opportunities.
  • Offer learning and development opportunities aligned with appraisal outcomes, licensing expectations, and BestStart's vision and values.
  • Collaborate, plan, and implement a Professional Learning Plan to support regional and national education priorities.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement to achieve BestStart’s strategic goals.
  • Proactively take personal responsibility to be solution-focused and foster a culture of coaching and mentoring.
  • Exhibit team leadership, build relationships, and collaborate across the organization.
  • Apply curriculum and education expertise to deliver equitable learning outcomes through the centres’ curriculum, Te Whāriki.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A recognised NZ level 7 ECE qualification and current full Certification.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of regulations, emerging research, and learning theories, applying them in your development, strategic planning, and teaching.
  • Proven experience in:
  • Achieving quality education learning and development outcomes for children and teachers.
  • Coaching teams to excel in delivering learning outcomes for children.
  • Leading teams to grow competencies and strengthen engagement, including facilitating professional development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with clear and concise communication.
  • Ability to develop systems and processes for targeted and outcome-focused work.
