Rockit with us!
Every day, our packing operations rely on a plan that turns demand into action—and that’s where our Production Planner comes in. Based at our modern Te Ipu office and operational facilities in Hastings, you sit at the centre of the flow between internal and external stakeholders, and packing operations turning it into clear, practical packing plans that keep product moving on time and to the quality our customers expect.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll start by turning forecast sales orders into clear, accurate packing plans, then share those plans across our internal and external packhouses so everyone is working to the same priorities and capacity.
Working closely with the S&OP team, you’ll stay across packing requirements, supply constraints, and the target markets and SKUs that matter most. From there, you’ll choose the right field bins for each order, making sure every plan meets market-access rules and delivers the size profile our customers expect.
You will keep communication flowing, updating growers on packing schedules, and act as the key contact for external packing operations so bin plans are coordinated and work keeps moving.
Because the plan is always evolving, you’ll work alongside packhouse leadership to manage changes to bin plans, labelling requirements, market access, and stock availability as priorities shift. You will also keep production planning records accurate and up to date, reconcile shift batches, and pull together packhouse reports and production data to support daily decisions and performance tracking.
What Rocks You
You’ll bring hands-on experience in production planning, packaging, and administration within export operations, and you’ll understand the quality processes and food-safety requirements that sit behind getting product out the door.
Just as importantly, you know how to build strong working relationships and collaborate confidently with both internal teams and external stakeholders, while using advanced computer skills and sharp attention to detail to keep records and reporting accurate.
You’ll be organised, proactive, and comfortable adapting quickly when priorities change, and be happy to be flexible with working hours to support the operation when it counts, backed by a continuous-improvement mindset.
