About the Role - This role owns the product vision for FMG’s shared Data Services and is responsible for maximising the value delivered across all streams of work. The Product Owner – Data Services plays a critical role in ensuring a consistent, enterprise‑wide approach to data service enhancements and changes, enabling FMG to use data effectively to support business decision‑making and client outcomes.

Working closely with delivery teams, technical specialists, and business stakeholders, this role manages priorities, dependencies, and delivery to ensure Data Services are aligned with FMG’s strategic direction and deliver measurable value to the Mutual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and communicate the product vision for FMG’s Data Services, ensuring alignment with business needs and strategic priorities.
  • Maximise the value delivered by Data Services by identifying, prioritising, and delivering the most valuable features and enhancements.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate the Data Services product roadmap, ensuring transparency and shared understanding across stakeholders.
  • Manage and prioritise the product backlog, balancing value, risk, dependencies, and learning opportunities.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to provide clear direction, support release planning, and set expectations for delivery.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business to understand needs, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on priorities and capacity.
  • Manage interdependencies across multiple streams of work, facilitating prioritisation and resolving conflicts where required.
  • Support change planning activities, including training, readiness, and adoption, to ensure benefits are realised.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies,  standards, and regulatory requirements.

About You:

  • An experienced Product Owner with a strong background in agile product management.
  • Confident owning product vision, roadmaps, and backlogs in complex, multi‑stream environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear priorities.
  • Experienced in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to influence, align, and manage competing demands.
  • Comfortable working with data, technology, and delivery teams to drive outcomes.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is required, along with strong communication and change leadership capability.
