Product Owner
Due to an internal move we’re seeking a Product Owner to take the reins of our staff facing platforms and run one of the workstreams of our Future Bank programme. You'll oversee the implementation of changes required to grow the bank through digital and staff-facing channels, including across mobile banking, internet banking, online APIs, phone banking and customer alerts, while ensuring our staff facing platforms remains secure, performant and serviceable.
This is a role focused on delivery orchestration — you’ll guide your stream’s direction, resources, and timelines while working cross-functionally with both other Product Owners and programme workstreams to coordinate change and work sequencing. This involves being flexible and ensuring timely communication with stakeholders to guarantee that timelines and issues are understood across the entire team. Effective collaboration and communication are essential to maintain project momentum and address any challenges promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
· Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for our staff facing platform. Continuously enhance this critical staff tool so it remains modern, user-friendly, and fully equipped to help our teams serve customers effectively across accounts, lending, and day-to-day banking operations.
· Working with our Programme leads to align development through a team of internal staff, vendor partners, and third parties to deliver agreed outcomes,
· Lead planning and execution of the Grow workstream technical initiatives within the Future Bank programme,
· Drive enhancements and integration of UIs and APIs across multiple customer and staff facing platforms and APIs.
· Champion timely communication, decision-making and delivery coordination with other workstream leads and Product Owners.
What You'll Bring:
· 2+ years of experience as a Delivery Lead or Product Owner, ideally within banking or financial services,
· Proven experience delivering technical change in financial services or complex enterprise environments,
· Strong knowledge of digital banking platforms, channels, and APIs,
· Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across business and technology functions,
· A collaborative, pragmatic leadership style with excellent stakeholder management skills,
· Solid knowledge of New Zealand banking regulations and compliance requirements.
