Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Procurement Category Manager – Clinical to join our Supply Chain and Procurement team here at Southern Cross Healthcare.

Based in our Auckland National Support Office, this role plays an important part in the team by defining and executing category strategies, running sourcing activity, manage shortages, and ensuring that products and services meet legislative and SC requirements.

This role will be responsible for: 

  • Developing category plans in alignment with the business 
  • Providing product sourcing services to the Southern Cross Healthcare group
  • Coordinating product evaluations and producing recommendations for all aspects associated with medical devices
  • Identifying and actioning improvements in procurement and supply chain activities
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of medical supplies portfolio, keeping up with latest trends, developments, risks, alternate sources of supply and technology impacting the products and services

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Extensive procurement experience, ideally within healthcare
  • Clinical background preferred
  • An in-depth knowledge of clinical products and processes would be advantageous
  • Sound commercial skills with an understanding of project management methodologies 
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of people at all levels of seniority and expertise 
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Demonstratable knowledge and management of computer systems (excel spreadsheets and database maintenance to an intermediate level)
