Prime Contract Milking opportunity near Putaruru
Our clients are seeking an experienced and motivated Contract Milker to join their team next season on a well-established, 119-hectare farm located near Putaruru, with easy access to Cambridge (30 minutes) and Hamilton (50 minutes).
This system 3 farm is currently milking 390 Friesian cross cows through a 30-aside herringbone cowshed, equipped with ACR’s and Protrack. With a 3-year average milk production of 157,000 kgMS, the farm is well-positioned for continued success with effective management. The infrastructure is solid, and irrigation ensures consistent grass growth throughout the summer.
The owners are looking for a skilled and self-motivated individual who can take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations and manage the farm with minimal oversight. As the owners step back from daily involvement, you will be entrusted with running the farm efficiently and effectively. Your ability to manage staff, communicate effectively, and keep the farm performing at a high level will be key to success in this role.
The ideal applicant will:
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ dairy farming experience and 1 year of farm management experience.
- Possess excellent pasture management and feed planning knowledge.
- Be highly skilled in animal health and husbandry.
- Have a proven track record of maintaining farm tidiness and attention to detail.
- Be self-motivated and capable of working independently, with strong communication skills.
- Be able to manage health and safety requirements on the farm.
