Practitioner Continuing Care
Do you want to be a part of a new bi cultural Alcohol and Drug Treatment service delivered in partnership with Serco within the Auckland South Corrections facility?
We are now currently seeking a full-time permanent Practitioner to join our team in delivering treatment for 6 to 12 months within a therapeutic community-based environment and continuing care support within the community.
Your role will include assessing clients, developing treatment plans, preparing NZ Parole Board reports and ensuring effective delivery of 1-2-1 and group interventions. You will also provide continuing care to programme and community clients /tāngata whaiora to support participants’ ongoing recovery journey.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Up to one year’s relevant experience working with clients in a health, additions or mental health care setting
- A relevant degree level qualification in Alcohol and other drugs (AOD), social work or mental health
- A willingness to embrace a bi cultural treatment approach within a therapeutic community environment
- Registration with a professional body or a willingness and eligibility to gain registration
- Skills in group delivery and individual interventions
- Motivational Interviewing experience
- Excellent clinical judgement and strong clinical boundaries
- A good level of understanding of tikanga Māori and its importance within this setting
- Report writing skills and computer proficiency
- An understanding of working in a correctional environment
- A strong ability to complete informative and up to date records
- The ability to work autonomously

- A salary between $69,076 and $79,393 depending on registration and experience

- An annual ‘location’ allowance of $2000 for working in a correction’s-based environment
