Postgraduate Applied Data Analytics Lecturer Perm

We are seeking a full-time permanent Postgraduate Data Analytics Lecturer to join the School of Computing based in Auckland. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality postgraduate teaching, supporting student success, contributing to research activities, and maintaining strong connections with industry and the wider community. You will play a key role in preparing graduates with advanced analytical skills and applied knowledge that meets the evolving needs of industry and society.
The successful candidate is expected to commence employment in January 2027.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $86,000 and $100,000, dependent on skills and experience.
The Postgraduate Data Analytics Lecturer reports to the Head of School and will be responsible for:
- Developing and updating postgraduate curriculum and course materials.
- Delivering engaging learning experiences across face-to-face, online, and blended modes.
- Assessing student performance and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Supervising postgraduate research projects and dissertations.
- Supporting student wellbeing and academic success.
- Participating in research, scholarship, and industry engagement activities.
- Maintaining accurate academic and student records.
- Undertaking moderation and quality assurance activities.
- Building effective relationships with industry, community, and academic stakeholders.
- Contributing to programme planning, continuous improvement, and School initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- A postgraduate qualification in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Experience in applied data analytics, data science, business analytics, or a related professional field.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualisation, databases, and applied analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and engage learners at postgraduate level.
- Experience designing and developing curriculum and learning resources.
- Proficiency with tools and technologies such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI, and learning management systems.
- Experience supervising applied research projects or postgraduate student work.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
