About the Role
We have an exciting chance to become a part of the Platform Engineering Leadership team at TSB.
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Data leader with substantial expertise in data engineering and warehousing platforms.
As a Platform Engineering Lead, your role will involve guiding the team that operates and sustains our data platforms, offering leadership and a Product-as-a-Service mindset regarding the roadmap for changes within the platform team.
Prior experience in line management and leading the team you support is essential, ensuring your team has the environment necessary for success.
You will be integrated into a motivated and empowered platform leadership team, collaborating on platform challenges and facilitating outcomes for TSB delivery teams and clients.
In this position, you can anticipate:
- Being a thought leader, facilitator, and mentor in the data field Leading people
- Collaborating with Architecture and delivery teams to develop the platform roadmap
- Playing a role in the planning, defining, and execution of project timelines, concentrating on delivering business value, including technical delivery and design considerations.
- Making sure that security, performance, and data integrity standards are upheld within the team, staying current on relevant security issues, applications, and guidelines, and resolving security matters before services go live.
- Overseeing and managing applications, environments, services, and platforms to guarantee they fulfi their service level agreements (SLAs).
- Addressing system incidents and issues to ensure compliance with SLAs.
- This position offers technical and delivery ownership within our Data Warehouse platform domain, encompassing operational management of platforms and the ongoing delivery of continuous improvement backlogs.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- 5+ years’ experience in a technical leadership role
- 10+ years’ experience in relevant engineering roles, specifically across Data Engineering or Data Warehousing platforms
- Working within an agile software development framework
- Supporting enterprise-grade applications and web-enabled services in highly available environments
- Operational Support in 24x7 technology service environment experience
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry would be advantageous
