About the role

We’re looking for a Platform Engineering Lead to take end to end ownership of a critical set of platforms and services that underpin how we deliver great experiences for our customers.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance technical direction, operational excellence, and people leadership. You’ll guide a team to build, run and continuously improve secure, resilient and high performing platforms, ensuring they enable innovation, reduce risk, and scale with customer needs.

You’ll play a key role in connecting engineering, architecture, and business teams, helping translate strategy into practical delivery.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide technical ownership across a portfolio of platforms/services
  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of reliable and scalable solutions
  • Ensure platforms are robust, secure, and aligned to enterprise standards
  • Drive reliability, availability, and performance across platforms
  • Champion proactive risk management, incident response, and continuous improvement
  • Embed best practices in monitoring, automation, and lifecycle management
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning while mentoring and growing a high performing team
  • Provide clear, pragmatic advice on platform capabilities and trade offs

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring

  • 7+ years’ experience in a Technology or Platform Lead role 
  • Platform operations and support
  • Resilience and reliability engineering
  • Continuous improvement initiatives
  • 2+ years in a people leadership role, with a track record of mentoring and growing capability
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills,  you can influence, simplify complexity, and build trust
  • A practical, problem solving mindset with a focus on outcomes, not just outputs
