Contract – fixed term - 12 months

At TSB, you’ll be part of a profit-for-purpose organisation where you’re supported to do your best work and make a real difference, for the people you work with and the communities you’re part of. In this role, you’ll help build and support scalable, resilient platforms that enable our Product teams to deliver great services for our customers and our people.

Who are you?

If you’re keen to join a forward-thinking, innovative organisation where your ideas are welcomed and valued, this could be the role for you. We’re open to flexible and work-from-home options for the right person.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and supporting scalable and resilient systems that help Product teams deliver reliable services across the bank. You’ll look for smarter ways of working, improving technology and processes to reduce risk, improve availability and performance, and enable secure self-service where possible.

Our platforms span public cloud and software development environments, including tools like GitLab. These are critical services, so reliability, availability, and integrity really matter. If you enjoy thinking big-picture and contributing ideas that shape future platforms and services, you’ll feel right at home here.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building, delivering, and maintaining robust platforms across hybrid cloud and development environments
  • Keeping critical systems highly available, secure, and performing well
  • Spotting opportunities to reduce latency, risk, and inefficiencies, and turning them into improvements
  • Supporting day-to-day operations, including incidents, requests, and change activity
  • Contributing to strategic platform design and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and automating wherever possible using Infrastructure as Code
  • Maintaining clear documentation and reliable support processes
  • Taking part in a 24/7 on-call roster when required

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure and VMware environments
  • Confidence using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience managing container runtimes, API gateways, logging solutions, and secrets management services
  • Familiarity with deploying and managing workloads on Kubernetes (advantageous)
  • Solid Linux system administration experience
  • Exposure to F5 LTM and GTM would be a bonus
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work through complex technical issues calmly and methodically

What’s in it for me?

At TSB, we’re small enough to really care about our customers but big enough to have great rates, innovative products, and digital solutions. We are looking for people to help us achieve our goal of being the easiest bank to deal with.

We aim to create remarkable experiences for our people, who in turn create remarkable experiences for our customers.

By working with us, you’ll be a part of a profit for purpose organisation. We’re 100% owned by Toi Foundation, a philanthropic trust, and our annual dividends contribute to Toi’s transformational impact in our community.

We believe that we all bring something unique to our workplace and when we are encouraged to be ourselves, TSB is stronger for it. That’s why we’re committed to supporting your wellbeing, creating space for you to be your best self, both in and out of work, and enabling you to make a meaningful difference in our communities.
