The Housing and Business Development Group at Horowhenua District Council is dedicated to fostering housing and business growth in our community. As a Planning and Development Team Lead, you will play a key role in our mission. You will be responsible for processing resource consents and planning applications, including having oversight of development engineering activities, ensuring that our district grows sustainably. Your efforts will have a direct and meaningful impact on the community, contributing to its long-term success. He kōrero mōu - About you

You will be an amazing leader who will lead the transformation of the Planning and Development Engineering functions to being a provider of Planning and Development advice and support across the organisation and community. You will be a strong communicator that is capable of building relationships with all stakeholders focusing on enhancement through the development of effective best practice systems, reporting and customer relations. Your focus will be on enabling people to be successful both internally and externally. You’ll be confident and driven to make things happen and have a “business improvement” mind-set, ensure and support the continued development and improvement of the resource consenting processes and systems to meet management, organisational and legislative needs. You will be pro active and work alongside the Group Manager and Group Leadership Team to guide and enable decision making and strategy.
