About the role | Mō te tūnga   

We are seeking a full-time Philanthropy Specialist to join our team.  This brand-new position will play a key role in growing philanthropic support that strengthens Manaaki Tāngata | Victim Support’s long-term impact across Aotearoa. 

This role is based in Wellington, and the core responsibilities include:  

  • Identify and grow philanthropic opportunities that strengthen long-term organisational sustainability. 
  • Develop a Gifts in Wills programme, supported by clear stewardship strategies.  
  • Build genuine relationships with supporters and create meaningful ways for them to engage. 
  • Establish a Major Gifts programme by creating compelling proposals and nurturing emerging prospects. 

About you | Mōu  

To be a member of our dedicated team, we are looking for the following:  

  • 3-5 years in a similar role 
  • Skilled at building and managing relationships with donors 
  • Confident communicator, both verbal and written 
  • Comfortable working with data and drawing meaningful insights 
  • A proactive, people-focused team player 
  • Empathy and understanding of the impact of crime and traumatic events on victims
