About the Orchards

Rockit Management Services farm approx 340Ha of orchards split across four orchard sectors located between Omahu, Puketitiri, Clive, Havelock North, Bridge Pa and Raukawa. Our orchards contain a range of growing systems including FOPS, 2D, 2D conversions, standard and intensive spindle, mainly on M9 or CG202 root stock along with legacy blocks on 793 and 106 root stock.

We operate a modern fleet of cab and cab-less New Holland tractors, lineal tower and Quantum mist sprayers with auto rate controllers and a mixed fleet of Technofruit and Nblosi mobile platforms.

About the Roles

Orchard Hands and Leading Hands are key hands-on roles covering a full range of orchard functions. 

Duties include:

  • Maintaining and developing Rockit™ Apple orchards
  • Planting and tree training 
  • Seasonal tasks of harvest, pruning, thinning and frost protection
  • Mowing, spraying and orchard maintenance
  • Supporting Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives on orchard
  • Assisting to train and supervise seasonal team members

Skills and Experience Required

We're keen to hear from people who have:

  • A positive attitude and enjoy working with our diverse team of characters
  • A hunger to learn and develop new skills
  • An interest to know more about the horticulture industry as a career option for you
  • Flexibility regarding work hours and a full driver’s licence.

If you have experience in the pip fruit industry that's great, but it's not essential.
