Due to an internal transfer, we have an opportunity for a full-time, experienced, service orientated HR Officer to join the People & Safety Team. This role is permanent and primarily based on our Manawatu campus.

Day to day you will be supporting the Team Leader People & Safety, the Senior HR Advisor and your direct team with HR, recruitment and payroll queries; supporting the daily recruitment function, alongside the Recruitment Advisor; contributing to HR projects and undertaking your own smaller pieces of work.
Having been exposed to payroll previously, this role will have you checking payroll on a fortnightly basis and be the back-up to our payroll officer when they take leave. Even if you haven’t run a payroll process before, we will provide training to the successful incumbent for these components of the role.
Based in Palmerston North, situated in the CBD, your forms of customer interactions are phone, email and face to face. Your ability to effectively and efficiently manage your workload in a varied and fluid environment will enable excellent service delivery and support of work across the team.
Our UCOL whanau is spread from Wairarapa, Manawatu, Horowhenua and Whanganui; you will be connecting across our campuses so a full drivers licence is essential.

2-3 years experience in the field of recruitment, HR coordination or administration is essential.
Previous experience in the Tertiary Sector is desirable.
Exposure to payroll practices is advantageous.
Highly computer literate with capability across the MS Office suite is essential.
