About the Role:

As our People & Culture Advisor, you will manage end-to-end HR tasks independently, including:

  • Handling medium to complex employee relations situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Coaching and supporting managers to develop their teams effectively.
  • Leading difficult conversations with staff, ensuring fair and constructive outcomes.
  • Managing full-cycle recruitment from job descriptions and advertising to interviewing and onboarding.
  • Delivering day-to-day HR operational tasks including policy implementation, performance management support, and reporting.
  • Partnering with managers across the Canterbury region, providing guidance and solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in People & Culture, ideally in a generalist advisory role.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, coaching, conflict resolution, and recruitment.
  • Confidence in handling sensitive issues and difficult conversations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Based in Christchurch and open to regional travel within Canterbury.
