We are seeking a passionate and skilled People, Culture and Safety Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Invercargill. The George Wilson Group consists of dynamic, family-owned and operated businesses, including Southland Farm Machinery, George Wilson Engineering, Gilkison Engineering, and Back Country Foods. At the heart of our group is a commitment to valuing our people, serving our customers, and delivering quality products and services.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage Human Resources (HR) and Health & Safety (HS) across our diverse operations, offering ample scope to apply and grow your expertise. 

You will work alongside the General Managers of each business to plan, implement and manage cohesive health, safety, people, and culture strategies, initiatives, and systems across the Group. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic function of HR and HS across the group
  • Support managers to drive team culture and performance
  • Training, development and career progression initiatives
  • Recruitment and retention 
  • Robust compliance, policies, procedures and systems
  • Risk management

If you are a person who has:

  • Proven experience in the fields of Human Resources and/or Health & Safety.
  • A genuine drive to grow and develop expertise in both HR and HS.
  • A strong enthusiasm for championing people-focused initiatives and promoting a culture of health and safety.
  • A strong interest in employment and health and safety legislation, as well as best practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills coupled with a knack for solving problems.
  • A collaborative mindset that promotes teamwork and supports the growth of others.
