Odyssey’s Wellbeing Hub is delivered in partnership with Ka Puta Ka Ora - Emerge Aotearoa based on a recovery café model. The service operates from Friday night to Sunday night within Odyssey’s Community Hub in New Lynn. Peer Support Specialists are on hand to provide a safe drop in space and co-facilitate groups using lived experience to encourage hope for recovery. 

We now have an exciting part time Peer Support Specialist role for 20 hours per week available within this service. The days and hours of work for this role will be: 

Friday 5:00pm – 9.00pm
Saturday 9:30am to 6pm
Sunday 9:30am to 6pm

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Up to 1 year’s relevant work experience working with people with alcohol and other drug use or mental health challenges
  • Lived experience of alcohol or drug use and/or mental health challenges and a recovery journey
  • Completed relevant training e.g. Peer Support Specialist training, Intentional Peer Support training
  • Knowledge/awareness of alcohol and other drug treatment and recovery principles
  • Knowledge of the cultural practices and customs of Māori and Pacific peoples and a commitment to Te Tiriti Waitangi
  • A full current New Zealand driver’s licence
