PARTNERSHIPS LEAD  

· Lead the implementation of our Partnerships Strategy. 

· Support the growth of commercial revenue and generate new initiatives.

· Build collaborative relationships and ensure partner activations, rights and benefits are executed to the highest level.

· Full time Auckland-based role

Across Aotearoa, our volunteer lifeguards have saved thousands of lives and ensured millions have come home safe after a day at the beach since 1910! 

Surf Life Saving NZ is truly unique, delivering proactive surf lifeguarding and essential emergency rescue services, a range of public education beach safety programmes and campaigns, member education, training and development as well as a highly respected sport. 

We do all this as a charity and are not fully funded, so rely on the generosity of the public, commercial partners, foundations and trusts for donations and financial contributions in order to lead and support our incredible front line volunteer lifeguarding services.

The purpose of this role is to work with the Head of Commercial & Marketing to lead the implementation of SLSNZ’s partnership approach as part of the overall Commercial Strategy. This role will focus on both acquisition and retention of commercial partners, supporting the growth of commercial revenue and building mutually beneficial relationships with our family of valued partners.

Key to this role is providing quality and timely support and ensuring high levels of partner satisfaction through delivering top quality activations and interactions. You will also identify and help secure new partnership and revenue opportunities. 

Personal attributes we are seeking include being results driven and delivery focused, ability to work under pressure, great time management and organisation skills, collaborative and exceptional communication skills, along with enthusiasm and energy. You also need to have a genuine belief in our cause and most importantly a good sense of humour!

Skills & Experience

· Proven experience and demonstrated success in a similar role where achieving targets and meeting deadlines was paramount

· Previous commercial sponsorship experience managing multiple partners, working on activations and leverage opportunities and events

· A strong customer focus and work ethic with account management and/or a sales background. 

· A solid understanding of business, marketing and sales principles and practices

· Strong communication skills with the ability to connect to a wide-range of people

· Competent in all Microsoft Office packages including word, excel, power point, outlook 

· Digitally savvy to help support our partners with online activations

· Organised multi-tasker with great time management.

· A commerce degree or similar in Marketing, Business or Management (or a relevant field) 

· Ideally experience in working in a not-for-profit environment and knowledge of surf lifesaving

· Full driver’s licence is essential
