Are you organised, proactive, and passionate about keeping operations running smoothly? Rockit Packing Company is looking for a Packaging Coordinator onour day shift to play a key role in supporting our packing teams by ensuring packaging supplies are available, traceable, and ready when needed.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and health and safety.

About the Role

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating packaging supplies across the packhouse to ensure efficient and uninterrupted packing operations. You will work closely with the Inwards Goods team, Quality team, Technicians, Chargehands, and packing staff to support daily operations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure packaging supplies are available to packing teams when required.
  • Liaise with the Inwards Goods team to coordinate packaging deliveries.
  • Check packaging for defects and escalate any issues to the Shift Manager.
  • Maintain accurate packaging traceability and waste records using Rockit systems.
  • Conduct regular packaging stock takes and monitor packaging inventory levels.
  • Coordinate packaging changeovers with Technicians to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with Lane and Mezzanine Chargehands to support operational requirements.
  • Assist with training and mentoring team members.
  • Support food safety compliance through hygiene and quality spot checks.
  • Promote and comply with company health and safety standards.
  • Undertake additional packhouse duties as required.

  • A strong people focus with previous experience training and/or supervising others.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including manual handling and standing for extended periods.
  • A strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Be reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Demonstrate good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and enjoy working as part of a team.
  • A commitment to food safety, quality, and health and safety requirements.
  • Confidence with following documented procedures and work instructions.
