About the Orchards
Rockit Management Services farm approx 350Ha of orchards split across four orchard sectors located between Omahu, Puketitiri, Clive, Havelock North, Bridge Pa and Raukawa. Our orchards contain a range of growing systems including FOPS, 2D, 2D conversions, standard and intensive spindle, mainly on M9 or CG202 root stock along with legacy blocks on 793 and 106 root stock.
We operate a modern fleet of cab and cab-less New Holland tractors, lineal tower and Quantum mist sprayers with auto rate controllers and a mixed fleet of Technofruit and Nblosi mobile platforms.
We currently have two opportunities for Orchard Foreman within our Crown and Hastings orchard sectors.
About the Role
A Foreman is a key hands-on role that sets the standard with supervising teams in the full range of orchard functions.
Duties include:
- Onboarding, training and mentoring of new team members and contractors
- Overseeing efficient completion of daily orchard tasks
- Ensure quality standards are met
- Support and promote safe and healthy work practices and environment
- Coordination of orchard tasks and efficient use of resources
- Cost tracking of daily orchards tasks
Skills and Experience Required
Applicants will ideally have:
- Experience in the pip fruit industry and sound knowledge of horticultural practices
- Experience in training teams and building a positive culture
- Grow Safe and Approved Handler certification
- Achieved or working towards a National Certificate in Horticulture
- A positive attitude with a hunger to learn and develop new skills
