We’re looking for a friendly and skilled Registered Nurse to join our specialist ophthalmology clinic. This is a hands-on, patient-focused role in a supportive outpatient environment, working closely with our team of Doctors, Nurses, and Technicians who are passionate about delivering excellent care.

You’ll support busy clinics and procedures, assist with ophthalmic assessments and imaging, and ensure every patient feels informed, safe, and comfortable. Ophthalmology experience is preferred, but full training is provided for the right candidate with strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

Hours of Work are on a Fortnightly roster, this being:

  • Week 1: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm 
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Finish times may vary depending on clinic needs, and holiday cover is required.

About You

  • Registered Nurse with current NCNZ registration and APC
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-registration experience
  • Confident and patient-focused, able to work independently, efficiently and as part of a team
  • Strong clinical judgement and attention to detail
  • Comfortable with IT and electronic medical records
  • Ophthalmology, theatre or procedural clinic experience is preferred.

The Role

  • Assist Doctors with clinics and procedures, including patient assessments and imaging.
  • Provide patient education and support throughout their care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and help ensure the clinic runs smoothly.
  • Participate in equipment checks, stock management, and maintain a safe, comfortable environment.
