About the role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Planning Lead to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term full-time basis to cover a team member while they are on Parental Leave.
Reporting to the Optimisation Manager, the Operations Planning Lead plays a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making and enhancing the overall productivity and performance of our Port Operations, including:
· Developing and maintaining 14-day forecasts and operational plans for all port activities, including vessel exchanges, supply chain forecasting, road and rail movements, and operations and labour planning.
· Ensuring optimal resource allocation, operational efficiency, and proactive problem-solving by analysing data trends, and continuously refining planning processes.
· Facilitating and driving results in a continually changing environment, leveraging your strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
· Leading S&OP planning meetings to communicate operational plans and align stakeholders.
· Developing and maintaining planning models and tools to support scenario analysis and contingency planning.
· Continuously refining planning models and methodologies to improve forecast accuracy and operational efficiency.
· Acting as the main point of contact for resolving planning conflicts or issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
· Providing real-time updates and adjustments to plans as required by operational changes.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
· A true passion for Health & Safety – not afraid to speak up and act immediately if something is wrong to ensure a high level of Health and Safety culture
· 3+ years’ experience working in a logistics/planning role.
· Experience liaising with numerous stakeholders with excellent communication and engagement skills, with a collaborative style.
· A proactive, organised and flexible work ethic with the ability to use your initiative and strategic mindset to problem solve and create business efficiencies.
· The ability to see the big picture assess risks and requirements to ensure the right resources are in place.
· Have experience in creating and analysing data sets with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Heads up:
· This is typically a Monday to Friday position, but as the Port operates 24/7, occasionally some flexibility is required.

· We complete random drug and alcohol testing.
