Operations Manager
McKay are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to support the growth of our Waikato and Western Region team. We are looking for a motivated and strategic leader to work collaboratively with our internal teams and external stakeholders to catapult the region to the next level.
To be successful in this role you will be operationally focused and have proven success leading teams to a common goal. You will also be comfortable communicating externally of McKay to secure long lasting partnerships with key stakeholders and clients in the region.
This role will be based in the Hamilton Branch and will work closely with the Waikato and Western Regional Manager.
Some of the aspects of this role are:
- Provide strong operational leadership and team direction across the region.
- Oversee day-to-day operational performance across all branch activities.
- Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety excellence. Driving continuous improvement.
- Strategically plan and coordinate the labour and resources across all work streams.
- Develop trusting and long-term relationships with key Stakeholders and clients, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Collaborating with estimators and commercial managers to support the delivery of accurate estimates and tenders.
- Continuously developing areas for operational improvement and future readiness.
About You:
- Proven successful experience in a leadership or managerial role, preferably in the infrastructure/electrical industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Highly professional with excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong operational understanding of electrical contracting environments.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business software.
