This role will act as the central coordination point between planning and operations, ensuring that temporary and project-based labour is effectively deployed, and operational issues are identified and resolved in a timely, structured manner. While hours of work will be predominantly Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm, it may be necessary to be available to work shifts, including nights and weekends. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 

Reporting into the Operations team, you’ll take on a range of responsibilities that are key to our project success, working as part of a team committed to safe and efficient operations. You'll be expected to:

  • Lead and coordinate fixed-term and seconded operational resources associated with the transformation programme
  • Work closely with the Planning Team to ensure labour availability in line with operational demand and programme priorities
  • Act as the primary triage point for operational issues, ensuring timely escalation and resolution
  • Support the implementation of operational change, translating programme plans into effective frontline execution
  • Provide clear, consistent communication between project teams, supervisors, and operational staff

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience in supervisory or operations coordination roles, ideally within ports, logistics, or heavy industry
  • Strong understanding of labour planning and workforce coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational issues under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to influence across multiple teams
  • Experience supporting transformation programmes is highly desirable
  • You must be eligible to work in New Zealand
