Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

Te Pūkenga is the New Zealand’s leading institutes of technology, which helps to drive the development of a skilled workforce not only in New Zealand but also around the world.

We are now looking for an experienced Digital Design Teacher to teach for Te Pūkenga at Jinhua Polytechnic-Wintec International College, Zhejiang, China. This is a fixed term positions for one academic year, teaching in the classroom up to approximately 20 hours per week, starting in September 2024!

We welcome teachers who are positive, resilient, passionate about helping students and comfortable with ongoing changes. It is also expected that our teachers can engage with less motivated students and develop good working relationships with other teachers, administration and management staff. 

The Offshore information technology teacher is based in our Wintec| Te Pūkenga reporting to the Team manager-Jinhua and will be responsible for: 

  • Supporting and mentoring student to achieve desirable outcomes by using student-centered teaching and creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Helping students to understand and work effectively with the information technology content delivered in English.
  • Development of the information technology programme, including classroom materials, lesson plans, assessments, etc.
  • Promote and contribute positively to the international college teaching team’s culture.

He kōrero mōu| About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Have a bachelor's  degree in information technology/Web design and technologies or similar.
  • Recent industry experience in information technology/Web design and technologies
  • Have at least two years’ experience teaching information technology/Web design and technologies to students with low English language      levels.
  • Use a student-centred  approach to teaching.
  • Have some overseas  experience and ideally have worked in China before with young adult      learners. However, this is not mandatory.
