McKay is recruiting for an experienced administrator to join our Marine NZDF team. This position will be based on the North Shore at the Devonport Naval Base. 

This is a permanent, part-time position (20 hours per week). There is flexibility to arrange your hours however suits you. 

This role will support our Devonport team to deliver their projects with financial accuracy. You will need to be able to pick up new systems with ease and be confident working with high demands. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Marine NZDF Project Managers and wider team
  • Raise and process purchase orders, invoices and accounts receivable transactions
  • Assist with project financial administration, reports and project controls
  • Maintain accurate project, financial and operational records
  • Maintain supplier and customer relationships
  • Coordinate the dispatch and receipt of goods, and ensure accurate documentation 
  • Provide project support, such as report writing and scheduling
  • Assist with data entry, system updates, and continuous improvement of clerical processes

Skills & Experience required: 

We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused, and eager to contribute to a high-performing team. You will ideally have:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in an administrative environment or support role
  • Experience in Finance administration, including purchase orders, invoices and accounts receivable
  • Passion for working with numbers
  • Ability to build great relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Capable of learning new software
  • Confidence to ask questions
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
