Occupational Health Nurse
Southern Cross Wellness Partners
Southern Cross Wellness Partners was established in 2024 through the merger of Raise Mental Health (EAP and mental health services) and MedPro Healthcare (occupational health nursing). As a wholly owned subsidiary of Southern Cross Healthcare, our vision is to help people live their best lives by reimagining healthcare. Guided by our Reimagining 2033 Strategy, we’re shaping the next generation of healthcare in Aotearoa New Zealand - creating an integrated, connected ecosystem that supports patients, their whānau, specialists, and funders across the full continuum of care.
As we evolve from a hospital group to a comprehensive healthcare organisation, we’re expanding our capabilities, unlocking new markets and partnerships, and strengthening our ability to deliver innovative, purpose-driven care. As New Zealand’s largest non-government healthcare provider and one of its most trusted brands, we’re uniquely positioned to deliver healthcare like no other.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As our Occupational Health Nurse, you’ll take your nursing skills beyond the traditional clinical setting, delivering high-quality occupational health, vaccination and wellness services directly to workplaces across New Zealand. With plenty of variety and autonomy, you’ll provide services including pre-employment medicals, fitness-for-work assessments, audiometry, spirometry, vision and musculoskeletal screening, drug and alcohol testing, cardiovascular and wellness assessments, and workplace vaccinations. You’ll use your clinical expertise to provide practical health advice, identify and manage risks, and help our clients create healthier, safer workplaces. Regular travel throughout New Zealand is an important part of the role, giving you the opportunity to work with a diverse range of people, industries and organisations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, adaptable and highly organised nurse who enjoys working independently while still being part of a supportive wider team. You’ll build trusted relationships with clients and workplace contacts, manage changing priorities and schedules, and combine excellent clinical judgement with outstanding customer service. You’ll be comfortable embracing technology and new ways of working, committed to continuous improvement and professional development, and passionate about delivering safe, professional and evidence-based care. If you’re looking for a nursing role with variety, independence, travel and the opportunity to make a genuine difference to workplace health and wellbeing across Aotearoa, we’d love to hear from you. This is a permanent position based in Wellington, with flexibility to consider either full-time or part-time hours depending on the successful candidate’s preferences and availability.
