BestStart Burnside is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and fully qualified Registered Teacher to step into the role of Head Teacher in our Nursery Room. This opportunity has arisen as a valued team member prepares to embark on an overseas journey, and we are now looking for someone equally committed to quality care and education to join our warm, experienced team.

Nestled behind Roydvale Primary School in Burnside’s vibrant technology park, our centre is often described as a hidden gem. With a strong sense of belonging and a genuine "home away from home" atmosphere, our close-knit team places high value on fun, laughter, and mutual trust.

Our nursery team is inspired by the RIE and Pikler philosophies, valuing the environment as the third teacher. This is reflected in our natural, thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces and our focus on real-life experiences. Primary caregiving is at the heart of our practice, and our teaching reflects deep respect, love, independence, and empowerment for every child.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a well-established and supportive team, guiding and inspiring teaching practice while nurturing the emotional and developmental needs of our youngest tamariki. We foster tuakana-teina relationships and ako, supporting a collaborative learning environment where everyone grows together.
