Our Te Wairua Residential Service in Kamo provides compassionate support to tāngata whai ora whose lives are affected by addictions and mental health challenges. We work in a way that upholds mana, strengthens whanaungatanga, and honours the wellbeing journeys of everyone who comes through our doors.

We are now seeking an experienced, caring Night Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will undertake regular checks of the premises during the night, provide calm and respectful support to tāngata whai ora with any concerns, and complete essential administrative tasks. Please note that this role requires you to remain awake for the duration of the shift.

This role is 30 hours per week, working the following shift pattern:

Wednesday 10.00pm – 8.00am
Thursday 10.00pm – 8.00am
Friday 10.00pm – 8.00am

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 1+ years’ experience supporting tāngata whai ora in a social services, health, mental health or addictions work setting (preferably as a Night Support Worker or similar role)
  • Completed or is working toward completing a relevant (level 4) health related qualification e.g. National Health and Care Certificate 
  • Experience of working with people from different backgrounds and cultures
  • Knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi, Māori tikanga and the cultural customs of Pacific peoples 
  • A willingness to embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model
  • Strong people skills
  • Proven reliability and the ability to work autonomously
  • A full, clean driver’s licence

In return we offer:

  • A salary of $57,159 to $65,748 per annum pro rata (depending on your relevant qualifications and experience) 
  • Annual allowance of $3000 per annum pro rata for working night shifts.
