Navigator - Nga Tini Whetu
Nga Tini Whetu acknowledges the importance of a healthy and fertile environment for whānau to flourish. This initiative focuses on working with families in challenging situations. You will work with partner agencies license Te Puni Kokiri, Oranga Tamariki and ACC and other services to provide a multi-faceted supports to lift the whānau into a sustainable position of wellbeing and stability.
The Role:
· Being a welcoming presence to awhi the whānau coming into our service
· Sourcing the solutions to their immediate needs
· Safety Assessments and future goals
· Warm handovers of whānau to your colleagues in other TToH or community services
· Follow up with whānau to ensure their needs are met and goals are achieved
· Empowering whānau to take the lead with their future aspirations
Suitable candidates will have:
· A tertiary qualification in Social Services Support to similar
· Experience working successfully with whānau in tough situations with multiple challenges.
· Experienced working with whānau particularly mama and pēpi
· Experience writing case notes and monthly reports
· Knowledge of Te Reo Māori me ona Tikanga Māori
· Full Drivers license
You must be non-judgmental and able to relate to all walks of life and a diverse range of whānau situations, which can be complex.
You need to be assertive with a sense of empathy and compassion, while being able to calmly and effectively work through situations of conflict and crisis.
