VisionWest Home Healthcare is an established provider of quality home healthcare in New Zealand. With skilled and trained Support Workers, VisionWest provides a range of services tailored to meet individual needs to enable people to live as independently as possible in their own homes. The National General Manager is responsible for leading the development and growth of VisionWest Home Healthcare across Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Rotorua/Lakes.

This role reports directly to Head of Health and Community Services. You will also be working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and other senior managers. 

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a “can do” attitude, possess exceptional strategic planning skills, and thrive on delivering a high-quality service that meets and exceeds contractual obligations and stakeholder’s expectations. You will have highly effective communication and relationship-building skills and a practical and analytical approach to problem solving. Regular travel is required to all branches and to attend sector meetings outside of Auckland.

Skills and experience:

  • Strong management experience in leading teams and service delivery in Healthcare sector
  • Strategic awareness of the New Zealand Public Sector policy environment in general and Home and Community Support Services Sector in particular.
  • Experience partnering with funders and other stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
  • Experience in successful contract negotiations
  • Experience in managing a multi-million-dollar budget to required quality levels
  • Able to lead across multiple service centres, ensuring consistency of practice, quality and service delivery 
  • Ability to lead teams in a way that achieves maximum productivity and staff satisfaction
  • Experience in risk management in complex environments
  • Proven experience in problem solving and strategic thinking
  • Ability to oversee the development of new models of care to meet funders requirements
  • The ability to work successfully in a fast paced and pressurised environment
  • The ability to work within the Christian based values of the organisation and to ensure that the vision, mission and values of the organisation are reflected in all workplace practices and relationships

Our ideal candidate will possess an appropriate Business Management qualification.
