About the role 

The Modern Workplace Lead position offers technical stewardship and guidance with an emphasis on operational excellence, technology enablement, and risk mitigation.  

This role is accountable for delivering and sustaining TSB’s round-the-clock collaboration and end-user technology that supports the Bank’s operations.  

You will collaborate effortlessly with other departments within Technology Services and provide exceptional customer service to our internal and external partners, sharing insights and expertise on Modern Workplace capabilities, platforms, systems, and services. 

In this role, you can expect to: 

  • Lead, mentor, and support the team to enhance performance and technical proficiency, ensuring that TSB's Modern Workplace platforms, systems, and services are maintainable, scalable, and secure. 
  • Formulate the Modern Workplace strategy and take ownership of comprehensive Product and Service Roadmap plans, ensuring their successful execution. Create a strategy for optimising Modern Workplace services. 
  • Assist the Bank in fulfilling its customer service commitments, product offerings, regulatory requirements, risk tolerance, and long-term vision. 
  • Keep abreast of advancing technologies in the Modern Workplace domain and offer suggestions for future adoption that would benefit TSB. 
  • Consistently assess, measure, and report on system performance, aiming to uncover opportunities for improvement that enhance security, operational stability, efficiency, and effectiveness, while working to eliminate any single points of failure. 
  • Address the needs of all service teams by utilising various IT delivery and project management methodologies, monitoring demand and capacity, and developing appropriate scalability strategies. 
  • Oversee relationships with new and existing vendors, evaluating contracts on an annual basis to implement financial and/or operational efficiencies. 
  • Respond to and manage incidents and problems, analyse trends, and seek suitable solutions to minimize and prevent future occurrences. 
  • Guarantee the availability of systems and services through proactive maintenance and monitoring of system components and processes, ensuring the timely completion of regular patching and maintenance activities. 

We are looking for candidates who have: 

  • 10+ years’ experience in diverse ICT technical and management roles.  
  • Proven experience in Microsoft technologies, Cloud and virtual environments.  
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of architecture principles as well as the project life cycle, ITSM governance principles and experience working within Agile based and service-oriented environments 
  •  A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline  
  • Strong people leadership and communication skills, with the ability to uplift team’s performance
