About the role:

Our Milk Supply Managers are responsible for the sourcing, retention, and quality of milk supply for Open Country Dairy. The role involves establishing and maintaining relationships with dairy farmers, ensuring the consistent and quality supply of milk, and overseeing various logistical and strategic aspects of milk production and procurement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an inventory of prospects to ensure milk sourcing targets are met.
  • Provide clear information on pricing enabling the supplier/farmer to make informed decisions.
  • Build strong professional relationships with suppliers/farmers to deliver exceptional service.
  • Attend supplier meetings and functions to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Understand seasonal, climatic, and other factors influencing milk production.
  • Monitor on-farm issues that could impact on milk production.
  • Resolve milk supply issues promptly and effectively.

About You:

  • Strong knowledge of dairy farming, with familiarity of the local area.
  • Background in finance, preferably rural banking is desirable.
  • Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, CRM).
  • Fun-loving with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Competitive spirit and a drive to succeed.
