Mental Health Support Worker- Fixed Term 12 months
Are you a self-motivated person with the passion and skills to deliver exceptional mental health support services using the Strengths model and the Recovery approach?
This is a fixed-term full-time role until August 2027 working Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00.
We are looking for a qualified mental health support worker to help people achieve positive goals in their lives. You will use your excellent relationship skills, resilience and flexibility to provide community-based support to people across West Auckland. We would welcome applications from people who have:
- The New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working within the mental health field and an understanding and appreciation of Strengths and Recovery-Based practice.
- A proven ability to work effectively with people from various cultures, especially Māori and Pasifika.
- Excellent communication, relationship and advocacy skills.
- The ability to work innovatively and proactively to achieve service goals.
- A positive, responsible, and professional attitude.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- A current, full and clean NZ driver’s license.
- Good computer and record keeping skills.

- The hourly rate for this position is between $28.95 per hour and $30.84 per hour depending on qualifications as per the Pay Equity Settlement for Mental Health Support Workers.
