We are seeking a passionate and committed Mental Health and Addictions Clinician to join our new peer-led service based in Odyssey’s Community Café in Central Hamilton.
This is a permanent, part-time role, working 20 hours per week, Tuesdays to Saturday 12pm to 4pm. You will help to create a friendly, inclusive and safe space where tāngata whai ora with mental health and addiction distress can drop in for coffee, connection, and receive support, or be referred to other services for ongoing care as appropriate.
You will play an important role in helping to create a welcoming, safe, non-clinical environment where tāngata whai ora (people seeking wellness) can receive support in a community café setting. You will provide clinical expertise as part of a peer-led, recovery-focused service for people experiencing mental health distress and/or increased vulnerability. You will also help to identify and manage risks and facilitate tāngata whai ora referrals to other services as appropriate.
As the café is open to the general public, all team members will work several rostered shifts per week providing café services to customers under the guidance of a Café Manager.
