Odysseys Te Wairua (co-existing disorders) service provides comprehensive clinical assistance using a modified “Therapeutic Community” approach and works in partnership with people living with mental health challenges, alcohol and drug dependency.

We are currently seeking a Mental Health/Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinician to join our residential team based in Kamo, Whangarei. The available role is rostered from Sunday to Thursday working the following hours: 

Sunday 8.00am – 4.00pm
Monday 2.15pm – 10.15pm
Tuesday 9.00am – 5.00pm
Wednesday 8.30am – 4.30pm
Thursday 9.00am – 5.00pm

Our ideal candidates will have:

  • Up to 1 years’ experience working with clients and their family/whānau in a social-services, addictions and/or mental health setting 
  • Relevant Level 7 qualification e.g.  in health science, social work, counselling or mental health
  • An interest in working towards registration as an AOD Practitioner
  • A willingness to learn about and embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model
  • Knowledge of Tikanga Māori and of Pacific cultural norms
  • Some skills in group and individual therapy
  • Great communication and relationship management skills
  • A full, clean NZ driver’s license

  • Salary $70,803 to $81,369 depending on registration and experience 
  • Includes an annual allowance of $2500 for working rostered evening and weekend shifts, 22 days annual leave and 5 days study leave per year
