The Te Wairua (co-existing disorders) service provides comprehensive clinical assistance using a modified “Therapeutic Community” approach and works in partnership with people living with mental health challenges and alcohol, drug or gambling dependency.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Mental Health/Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinician to join our residential team based in Mangere East to work the rostered shifts as detailed below: 

Tuesday 7.00am - 3.00pm

Wednesday 1.00pm - 9.00pm

Thursday 9.00am - 5.00pm

Friday 7.00am - 3.00pm

Saturday 1.00pm - 9.00pm

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Up to 1 years’ experience working with clients and their family/whānau in a social-services, addictions and/or mental health setting 
  • Relevant Level 7 qualification e.g.  in health science, social work, counselling or mental health
  • A registration as an AOD Practitioner or an interest in working towards this. 
  • A willingness to learn about and embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model
  • Knowledge of Tikanga Māori and of Pacific cultural norms
  • Some skills in group and individual therapy
  • Great communication and relationship management skills
  • A full, clean NZ driver’s license

In return we offer:

  • A salary between $67,225 and $77,272 depending on registration and experience
  • An annual allowance of $2500 for working rostered evening and weekend shifts
