The Role
This is a part time position of 16 hours per week. We would look favourably on applicants who can also be flexible to take on more hours if needed to meet the workload, and who can work remotely from time to time to manage work peaks. This role would be worked remotely, with the requirement to come into the clinic from time to time, including during the initial onboarding period.
Key responsibilities:
- Produce accurate, timely and professional medical correspondence for FA's doctors
- Typing medical letters using digital Dictaphones with near 100% accuracy
- Proof reading, correcting and cross checking prior to release to doctors or patients
- Provide fast and efficient service adhering to our usual turnaround time of 2-3 working days
- Obtain required patient information if needed and update patient management system
- Be proactive and work hand-in-hand with other typists spreading the workload to achieve KPI targets
Ideal candidate, skills and experience:
- Previous experience as a medical typist
- Strong dictaphone experience
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to accurately transcribe
- Naturally uses initiative to tackle tasks
- Well organised and able to juggle priorities
- Able to type 70 words per minute or more
- Works well under pressure, with a calm manner
- Comfortable with medical terminology (training will be provided regarding fertility-specific terms)
- Willing to help with other administration tasks, if required
- Enjoys working autonomously for the majority of the time, but understands the importance of being an active part of a wider team, even when working remotely
- Exposure to working with specialists and in private healthcare
