Primary responsibility is the purchasing, sales and management of all Meat and Poultry products in the
Hawkes Bay Distribution Centre. This person is responsible for the right quantity of the right products in
stock, at the right price.
The procurement department plays a key role in the success of the branch. Decisions made by the
Procurement team impact directly on sales, profitability and operational effectiveness. They also
underpin some of the key performance measures of the branch.
The role is diverse and will require functional relationship with all departments. Alongside the
warehouse and dispatch department, this person will have full understanding of what product is coming
into the building, how it is being stored and dispatched from the building to ensure accuracy and
accountability. This role will also include working alongside the account managers to grow the centre of plate.
Key Performance indicators include:
· Maintain appropriate stock turns/Levels and number of stock lines
· Relationships with suppliers
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers through regular customer visits.
· AP/Purchasing relationship-A/P invoices cleared daily
· System knowledge Real Time, Houdini, Excel Reports etc.
· Grow product knowledge
· Compliance with the Food Safety programme
· Dumped, Missing, expired stock 0.4% of total sales
· Branch Out of Stocks – Target 1 % at any time
· Increase product range sold into each customer (i.e. Lines per invoice)
· Maintain Code Status for specific lines
· Regularly revising the branch range and rationalising monthly
· Grow sales bases on branch budgets
