Marketing and Communications Manager - Full Time

Mō mātou - About us

When you join Presbyterian Support Central (PSC), you’re becoming part of something truly special. As a not-for-profit organisation everything we do is about supporting people at the most vulnerable times of their lives, whether that’s an older person needing care and connection, or a family working through tough times.

We have two well-known brands that lie at the heart of our mahi:

  • Enliven: our positive ageing services that create age-friendly communities where older people have companionship, choice, fun, and purpose.
  • Family Works: our social services supporting tamariki and whānau through counselling, social work, life-skills and parenting programmes and safety services.

Together we make a lasting difference!

Mō te tūranga  - About the role

If you enjoy variety this could be the role for you as no two days will be the same and there are some exciting times ahead of us!

Working as part of the Business Services and Sustainability team, and with one direct report, this role combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery across marketing and communications. You’ll be responsible for service marketing, brand, internal and external communications, public relations, campaigns, and our digital channels.

The workload is diverse and, as a not-for-profit, we need to achieve great outcomes with available resources. You’ll play an important role in telling our stories, strengthening our profile and reputation, and ensuring our services are effectively positioned, promoted, and understood by the communities we serve.

Key accountabilities will be:

  • Strategy, Brand and Service Marketing Leadership
  • External Communications, Public Relations, Issues and Reputation
  • Service Marketing, Campaigns and Audience Engagement
  • Digital and Content Management
  • Internal and Organisational Communications
  • Team, Stakeholder and Operational Leadership

 Mō koe - About you

With a tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related field, or equivalent experience, you will have a strong track record in developing and delivering successful marketing campaigns and communications across a range of audiences and channels.

You’ll be innovative and creative, with the ability to identify opportunities and turn ideas into action. You’ll be a confident communicator with sound judgement, able to build trusted relationships and provide advice across all levels of the organisation.

You’ll bring plenty of energy and enthusiasm. Our team is small, so you’ll be equally comfortable thinking strategically and rolling up your sleeves to deliver the work. You’ll be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and share our commitment to delivering the very best services to the people and communities we support.

In addition, you will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience and proven success in a similar role
  • Strategic perspective combined with a practical, delivery-focused approach
  • Strong marketing, communications and PR capability, including media engagement
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Collaborative approach and ability to build trusted working relationships
  • Confidence working across digital channels, content and technology
