Marketing Manager
About the role
Based in our central Tauranga office, this is a permanent full-time position working 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, you’ll work closely with the National Marketing and Partnerships Manager, the wider marketing team, and stakeholders across the business.
You’ll be responsible for planning, executing, and managing some of Craigs’ most high-profile major events, as well as supporting additional events as required. This includes working with branches and Head Office to deliver exceptional customer experiences and support key business objectives. You’ll also play a key role in event strategy, marketing, promotion, delivery, measurement, and reporting, ensuring every event leaves a lasting, high-quality impression and reinforces Craigs’ reputation for excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end management of major events, including State of the Nation, Investor Day, Craigs Women Wealth, and other large-format events. This role does require flexibility to travel to locations around New Zealand 1-3 times a month, or as required, for onsite management of events.
- Recommending strategic changes to event management and formats, including reviewing and auditing Craigs and market events.
- Researching and securing venues, managing event calendars, negotiating with vendors, and overseeing event marketing and promotion.
- Monitoring event budgets, timelines, and objectives, and delivering on event briefs.
- Risk management and process documentation for events.
- CRM super user: segmentation, list creation, email sends, and event software proficiency.
- Planning and implementing online events and webinars.
- Creating event invites, presentations, and contributing to social media and PR activities.
- Supporting branch advisers with marketing plans, digital content, and event collateral.
- Managing event software (e.g., Eventbrite), logistics, and on-site coordination.
- Measuring event satisfaction and KPIs, and providing regular reporting and recommendations.
About you
We are looking for candidates with relevant work experience, and who are able to demonstrate the following:
- A degree in marketing, communications, or public relations.
- Events management qualification and at least 3–5 years in a senior event-marketing role with budget accountability.
- Strong passion for event marketing and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
- Experience with digital marketing and communication tools (e.g., Eventbrite, CRM, email and survey software, social media).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commercial mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines.
- Creative, innovative, and highly organised.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office suite).
- Financial markets background or interest is a plus.
