Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

We are seeking a Marketing Assistant (Tairāwhiti) to join our Marketing and Communications team at EIT | Te Pūkenga, based in Tairāwhiti. This permanent, full-time role supports the development and delivery of marketing campaigns, events, and digital engagement that promote EIT’s programmes and priorities in the region. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure culturally inclusive, effective, and impactful marketing activity.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $53,196 and $61,122, dependent on skills and experience.

You will report to the Marketing and Communications Manager and will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and implementing marketing and advertising campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Producing marketing collateral and content for print and digital platforms.
  • Supporting social media planning, scheduling, and paid digital activity.
  • Assisting with event promotion and community engagement initiatives.
  • Ensuring brand consistency and cultural responsiveness across all outputs.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in marketing, communications, or media coordination.
  • Strong understanding of Māori and Pasifika worldviews and cultural responsiveness.
  • Knowledge of digital platforms and social media best practices.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills, including copywriting and editing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with design or campaign tools.
  • A marketing or business-related qualification (desirable).
