It’s exciting times for our Nelson Marine Precinct, Port Nelson’s $20m redevelopment of the Nelson Slipway with a new Cimolai travel lift, will result in a modern marine haul-out and maintenance facility.

Reporting to the Slip Master, this permanent full-time role will be responsible for providing assistance at both our slipways, to support the running of it in a safe, effective and efficient manner. No two days will be the same. Responsibilities range from maintenance, block work and generally supporting the Slip Master.
The ideal candidates will have:
- Marine background with a mechanical interest
- Physically fit and have a genuine commitment to health and safety
- A strong appetite to upskill and develop
- A can-do attitude with solid planning skills to ensure efficient operations and compliance
- Effective communication skills with both internal and external customers
- Ability to work effectively in a team or alone
- A related trade qualification is preferred, but not essential, demonstrated experience is also acceptable.
