Manager, Infrastructure

Wellington’s iconic, award-winning ecosanctuary is looking for a new team member to take up a new role of Manager Infrastructure. In this role you will lead a high-achieving team of rangers and volunteers who ensure the world’s first predator exclusion fence retains the integrity required to protect various native taonga including kiwi pukupuku, takahē and kākā. This team also makes sure that the infrastructure within the fence is suitably maintained to serve our 140,000 visitors annually.
You will spearhead globally-leading initiatives including the refurbishment and/or replacement of the predator exclusion fence. You will work closely and collaboratively with our conservation team, as well as other teams and many external players, to ensure your team’s work protects and enhances restoration in the sanctuary itself.
This opportunity will suit someone who is motivated to make a difference, and who loves the challenge of achieving outcomes even with the budgets of a not-for-profit. To be successful you will have demonstrated experience in effective, inclusive, positive leadership of people as well as effective infrastructure maintenance and/or replacement projects.
