Maintenance Worker - Part Time - 50 hours per fortnight

 Mō te tūranga  - About the role  

 This role will be a combination of maintaining routines and maintenance schedules as well as dealing with specific projects or tasks on a more ad hoc basis. The role is 25 hours per week working Monday to Friday 9am to 14.40pm. Typical day to days maintenance and gardening tasks will include:

  • Implement maintenance and gardening as per the monthly and annual work schedules
  • Oversee service contracts for maintenance or gardening in consultation with the Home Manager
  • Ensure all storage areas are clean, secure and tidy and that all equipment used is kept in safe operating condition.
  • Ensure equipment and chemicals are used in accordance with H&S guidelines and processes and ensure the use of PPE as appropriate. 
  • Ensure regular and on-going maintenance of facility motor vehicles, including internal and external cleanliness
  • Maintain records of equipment and stocks and order as appropriate
  • Ensure due consideration for H&S risks/hazards is observed in relation to maintenance equipment and tasks. 

 Mō koe - About You  

You will be willing to take on a variety of maintenance work around our residential home and village and have the skillset to enable you to do so with ease.

In addition you will:

  • Have experience of working with a variety of trades and overseeing and monitoring contractors.  
  • Work collaboratively with the Home Manager and our central property and asset team to ensure that work meets building and asset compliance.
  • Have the ability to carry out electrical testing and tag procedures and be comfortable taking responsibility for keeping routine maintenance schedules up to date.  
  • Be required to drive Company vehicles, including our resident's van and therefore, a full clean drivers license is essential.
  • Require some flexibility with regard hours of work at times, in order to meet the operational needs of the Home and/or planned schedules of work.
