FMG are looking for a Loss Adjuster (Digital) to join our Claims team in this office‑based role. You’ll manage end‑to‑end property and material damage claims using digital assessment methods — from determining policy coverage and quantifying loss through to preparing repair specifications and managing the repair process. This role plays a key part in delivering timely, accurate outcomes for our clients while balancing quality, cost control, and a strong client focus.

This is a 12 month fixed term role and based from with our Palmerston North or Christchurch office.

In this role, you will:

  • Digitally assess property and material damage claims accurately and within agreed timeframes
  • Determine policy coverage, quantify loss and assess damages within delegated authority
  • Prepare repair scopes and manage repairs through to completion
  • Undertake regular audits of preferred service provider self‑assessment claims
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with internal teams and external providers

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a structured, digital environment and takes ownership of delivering quality outcomes. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous loss adjusting experience
  • A sound understanding of property and building fundamentals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to analyse information, identify key issues and make informed decisions
  • A customer‑driven mindset with the confidence to build trusted relationships
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to teamwork
  • An understanding of rural communities and the factors impacting our customers
